MELT: Macomb Embracing Liberation Together
Neighbors Caring for Neighbors with Compassion, Respect, and Solidarity
About MELT
MELT — Macomb Embracing Liberation Together — is a community-based support organization serving immigrant families in Macomb County and surrounding communities who are affected by ICE enforcement actions. We recognize that families are often complex, including households of mixed legal status, U.S. citizen children, lawful immigrants, spouses, parents, and relatives whose lives can be disrupted when a loved one is detained, removed from the home, or placed into immigration proceedings. Our work is rooted in dignity, safety, and community care.
When a family is impacted by immigration enforcement, MELT shows up with practical, compassionate support during moments of crisis. We help eligible families access food, transportation, translation and interpretation support, community resources, and other basic needs so they are not left alone while navigating fear, uncertainty, and disruption. We can help connect families with trusted legal service providers and immigration attorneys, though MELT is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal representation.
